I took this photo on the weekend and I  love it.  So much so, I will probably hang it in my office (which has no windows) for some good Feng Shui.

It reminds me of the lesson of “standing behind the short wall”.  Ever heard of it?

The principle is simple….

Whenever something is going on in your life to which you want a solution – especially when there is a conflict with another person – rather than looking at the situation from your standpoint, imagine that you are standing behind a short wall looking at yourself in that scenario.

  • How are you behaving?
  • How is the other person behaving?
  • What does this scenario look like from the outside when you take away all the emotion?
  • What advice would you give to yourself as an outsider?

This technique REALLY WORKS and has changed my perspective of my own life and the interactions within it.  It puts you in a more empowered space and takes away the emotion which can drive poor behaviour and poor decisions.

Give it a try.  Seriously…..  And persist with it until your “get it”.  It is such a fabulous technique and I promise it will help to change your life!
